Elk Population
The elk population may be diminishing in some areas; you can find a baby at specially licensed farms.
Females of these animals live longer than males; females' average life span ranges from 19 to 21 years while males live average for 16 years in the wild. In captivity these mammals can live 18-22 years.

The herds of these animals consist of females and their offspring. There are usually about 20-30 individuals in one herd. Adult males live along or in small male groups. These mammals spend much of their day seeking, eating and digesting food. The elk population may be diminishing in some areas; you can find a baby at specially licensed farms.
