In the wild, these animals eat high quantity, low quality and varied diet consisting of plants such as grasses, shrubs, herbs, saplings and bark. In captivity they may be fed on herbivore pellets, carrots, yams, apples, and romaine and alfalfa hay as well. Arizona elk babies do exist; look for a picture in the pet classifieds.
