The Elk
The elk is a massive creature; a photo may dissuade you from hunting it.
These mammals are cousins of the wapiti, a large North American Deer. In the wild these animals can be found on a small area near Buttonwillow in Kern County and Owens Valley, in Inyo County and Tupman. Naturally, they prefer to inhabit marshes, river bottoms, open plains, grasslands and sage brush scrub.

The Elk -
photo, hunting
These animals are capable of breeding at 28 months of age though only the strongest males are able to be involved in a breeding process. The young are usually born in the spring. They like all deer, have four-chambered, ruminating stomachs. The elk is a massive creature; a photo may dissuade you from hunting it.
