These mammals are able of breeding at 28 months of age. The babies are usually born in spring. As a rule caws give birth to a single baby, however twins are not uncommon. Sometimes even triplets are born. The young are spotted at birth. An elk's baby may see its first day on a farm; they are domesticated in some areas around this country.
